Callers can be matched with a breast cancer survivor based on diagnosis, treatment, location, age, etc. Y-ME Mid-Atlantic also provides breast health awareness workshops and health fairs as well as a Latina program called A Day For You which provides underserved/uninsured Latina women with a clinical breast exams by a licensed and trained medical provider, free mammograms to those who qualify, and patient navigation services for any diagnosed with breast cancer. Our At Your Fingertips is a unique resource booklet providing contact information for financial resources, web sites, wigs and prostheses and local support groups as well as a suggested reading list. Our services compliment the research efforts of Susan G. Komen Foundation, Avon Foundation and others. In fact, Y-ME is the recipient of grant funding from both organizations. Many of our volunteers sit at the table to review grant proposals for breast cancer research.
